Preparing Your Car for the Track
Ensure Track-Worthy Condition
- Your car should not be leaking oil or fluids.
- Tires must have sufficient tread.
- Brake pads and discs/drums should have adequate material.
Top Tip: Starting with a non-modified standard car is a great way to begin before investing in 'track mods.'
Install a Fire Extinguisher
- Use a metal bracket to secure the fire extinguisher (Do not use cable ties or tape to mount the extinguisher, as our scrutineers will not accept this. Similarly, avoid using self-tapping screws, as they can pull out of thin sheet metal during a crash).
- Mount the bracket in an easily accessible location, commonly using the existing bolts in your passenger seat.
- The Honed Fire Extinguisher mount, as shown in the photos below, demonstrates a secure installation using sheet metal.
Safety and Equipment
- Ensure your helmet fits well and meets at least Australian Standard 1698, European ECE R22 regulation, or higher auto racing standards.
- You must at least wear long-sleeve top (covering your wrists), long pants (covering your ankles), and closed-toed shoes. (Active wear is highly flammable – no leggings please. Wear cotton-based clothing)
- No racing shoes or suits are required, but choose non-flammable materials.
Essential Track Day Items
- Water
- Tools
- Tyre pressure gauge
- Extra engine oil and/or coolant
- Wheel chock
- Cloth tape
- Sunscreen and a hat
- Folding chair

Event Philosophy
Aside from induction type, drivetrain layout, and tire treadwear categorization, we don't impose strict rules on aero, suspension, or engine modifications within each class.
